MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Admirals are skating into the playoffs with confidence. The AHL hockey team finished second in the Central Division.

Because of the high ranking, the Admirals will host the last three games of a five-game series against the Manitoba Moose. Manitoba will host the first two games of the series.

“I don’t think it really matters who has the higher seed, as both teams are well-versed with each other,” Admirals coach Karl Taylor said in a story posted to the team's site. “The numbers say select what we did with the format, so we went with that, and we will play the percentages. We know we are going to get their best game, and hopefully we can provide that as well.”

Last year, the two teams faced off in the semifinals. The Admirals won for the first time in 11 years, only to lose the division finals to the Chicago Wolves. The Wolves ended up winning the Calder Cup.

“We have that history from last season and I’m sure they would like nothing more than to knock us off and get a piece of us because we got a piece of them last year,” Taylor said. “It’s going to be a really hard series.”

While having a majority-home ice advantage is nice, the Admirals won two games on the road last year. The clinched the divisional semifinals series in Game 5.

“You want to win every game you play, but coming home with two wins would be ideal,” Admirals captain Cole Schneider said in a story posted to the team's site.

Schneider led his team this season with 25 goals, totaling in at 51 points.

The teams will take to the ice for Games 1 and 2 on April 28 and 30. Game 3 in Milwaukee is set for May 3 at 7 p.m. If a Games 4 and 5 are necessary, the Admirals and the Moose will face off again on May 5 at 7 p.m. and May 6 at 6 p.m.

Needing all the hometown support they can muster, the Admirals are hoping for a big turnout May 3. Besides catching one of the first playoff games of postseason, fans could win Taylor Swift tickets.

The Admirals are giving away two Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets to one fan who attends the May 3 game. The winner must be at least 18 years old, and must enter the arena by 7:30 p.m. There is no purchase necessary, but those who want to enter need to scan one of the contest QR codes around the arena.

The Taylor Swift tickets are for the June 3 show in Chicago.
