MILWAUKEE — Hell’s Kitchen will settle into the depths of Milwaukee as two alums of the show host a dinner at the Public Market.
Season 19 Hell’s Kitchen alums Mary Lou Davis and Adam Pawlak, also owner of the local restaurant Egg & Flour, will prepare a 5-course “fine Southern cuisine” dinner on Sunday, March 5 at the market. The dinner will come complete with wine pairings selected by Peg San Felippo, wine and spirits writer for City & Shore Magazine in Fort Lauderdale.
“I’m thrilled to be traveling to Milwaukee to join fellow Hell’s Kitchen castmate Adam Pawlak for this one-of-a-kind event,” said Davis. “Milwaukee is developing a very impressive food scene, and I can’t wait to showcase fine-dining, southern cuisine at the iconic Milwaukee Public Market.”
At the event, titled Mary Lou in Milwaukee Dinner, attendees will get a specially curated menu.
Davis, a San Antonio native, took second place in the 19th season of the cooking competition. One of the things that makes Davis unique is her ability to use concepts from different movies, TV shows and fandoms to create dishes. She often attends cosplay events, cooks for conventions and host pop-ups.
Pawlak is a Milwaukee native with a specialty for Italian cuisine. He placed 9th in the 19th season of Hell’s Kitchen. After working in different cities and holding every position in the restaurant industry, Pawlak opened his fast casual pasta bar Egg & Flour, which now has multiple locations, one at the East Side’s Crossroads Collective and another in Bay View.
In addition to his restaurants, he also hosts private classes and some cooking classes at the Milwaukee Public Market.
Davis and Pawlak’s joint event will start at 5 p.m. on March 5 in the Public Market’s second level mezzanine area. Tickets are $200 per person, but event space is limited. You can sign up on their website.
