MILWAUKEE — It’s been almost a week since Milwaukee police officer Peter Jerving died while trying to arrest a robbery suspect in Milwaukee.
Jerving, 37, was struggling with 19-year-old suspect Terrell Thompson when he was injured and taken to a hospital, where he later died.
He had given four years of service to the Milwaukee Police Department.
A visitation at Elmbrook Church took place until 1 p.m. A formal service started at 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Afterward there was a procession from the church to Wisconsin Memorial Park, where he is being laid to rest Monday evening.
