MILWAUKEE — Amid the rumble of motorcycles at the 120th Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival, Wisconsinites might hear the electric energy of guitars in full swing.
Iconic bands Foo Fighters and Green Day are headlining the festival at Veteran’s Park this summer, Harley Davidson announced Wednesday.
“We are very excited to announce the Foo Fighters and Green Day as headliners at our Veterans Park festival location,” said Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, president and CEO of Harley-Davidson. “We can’t wait to host riders from all over the world in Milwaukee, as we come together as one Harley-Davidson family and welcome everyone to join us. With music at the heart of our festival, I can’t think of two more iconic American rock icons to join our community in celebrating 120 years of Harley-Davidson.”
The four-day festival, set for July 13-16, takes place across multiple venues in the Milwaukee area, including the Harley-Davidson Museum, Harley-Davidson Powertrain Operations, and at local Harley-Davidson dealerships.
But Veteran’s Park is where the music is. Green Day is playing Friday, July 14 and Foo Fighters on Saturday, July 15.
There are also several other acts playing at the festival, including Cody Jinks, Social Distortion, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Phantogram, White Reaper, and KennyHoopla. During the day, families can also enjoy activities, music, food and other entertainment in the park.
The 20-acre campus of the museum will serve as a central rallying point for free events, food and drink options and skills demonstrations at the festival.
Smaller dealerships hosting events are located in Greenfield, Thiensville, Kenosha, West Bend and Oconomowoc.
The weekend will wrap with a motorcycle parade through Milwaukee.
