MONONA, Wis. — Representatives with a top Wisconsin grocery chain said they are looking to hire for hundreds of openings across the company.
They encouraged those with a love of customer service to apply.
As Monona’s Metro Market Customer Service Manager Tammie Robinson opened her self-checkout register, the three-year Kroger Company employee had a check-in with her boss, store director David Servais.
“What the joy is for us is the family environment, not only for associates, but for the customers,” Servais said about why he and countless other frontline workers enjoy helping out in the grocery profession.
“I really do love our customer base here,” Robinson added. “We have a lot of regulars that come through, and my family also as a part of the Kroger family.”
Two of her five family members also work for the Kroger company. The busy mom also said she’s grateful for the grocery giant’s generous “Feeding Your Future” tuition reimbursement program.
“That’s $3,500, I believe, and then my son who’s graduating this year will also be able to take advantage of that, so it’s nice to be able to have a little bit of help because we all know that college is not cheap,” Robinson said.
Robinson also touched on another important perk — flexibility. She said this benefit allowed her to make her son’s games and family dinners.
Servais said for the right candidate, the company is happy to find the right fit.
“So if you’re a mother who needs to drop their kids off at school, and then come to work afterwards, we have a position for that. When you get to pick up your kids at night, there’s a position for that. If you prefer to sleep in and would like to work a second shift, there’s a position for that,” Servais said.
The Kroger Company representatives said premium pay and advancement opportunities are available along with placements in their Mazomanie and Oconomowoc distribution locations. You can apply for those here.
