GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers made several statements Sunday with their 41-17 victory over the Vikings at Lambeau Field.

Most importantly, they are now a home victory over the Lions away from making the playoffs. Four straight wins have turned a 4-8 start into a realistic path to a Wild Card berth.

Jaire Alexander made a statement by backing up his boast and holding Justin Jefferson to one catch for 15 yards.

Keisean Nixon made a statement by returning a kick 105 yards for a touchdown. It was the third longest kickoff return in Packers history. The longest was the last, 108 yards by Randall Cobb in 2011.

Aaron Rodgers made a statement by knowing that this edition of the Packers doesn’t necessarily need him to carry them. His play and leadership is important to this team.

The Vikings may have won the NFC North, but they had to leave Green Bay wondering who the best team in the division is.

The Packers aren’t in the playoffs yet. Still, to have a “win and in” game in the regular season finale says a lot about this team.

Statements have been made.
