KENOSHA, Wis. — Three people were injured following an active shooter situation in Kenosha Monday night.
The Kenosha Police Department said they responded to a report of an active shooter in the 1300 block of 56th Street at around 8:20 p.m.
When they arrived on the scene, officers were shot at, but they returned fire. Reports had said there were victims or hostages inside with the shooter, so police proceeded to enter the home.
Police say they believe there are two gunshot victims, with one being in critical condition and the other in serious condition. The suspected shooter died.
KPD said the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation will conduct this investigation.
