WISCONSIN — This year, Wisconsin is mixing up its holiday treat preferences.
Turns out Wisconsinites love a fruity treat this time of year; don’t worry, it’s not a fruitcake.
A report from CandyStore.com showed that the most popular Christmas candy in the Badger State is Starbursts followed by peppermint bark and reindeer corn. CandyStore.com noted that while Starburst may not be a traditional holiday treat, it’s picking up in popularity. It also snagged the number one spot in Nevada, where peppermint bark also came in second.
Last year, Wisconsinites deemed peppermint bark the top Christmas candy.
CandyStore.com is an online bulk candy store. It surveyed 16,000 customers and talked to candy manufacturers and distributors to find out every state’s favorite Christmas Candy.
The report mentioned that 93% of people gift chocolate or candy during the winter holiday season.
