GREEN BAY, Wis. — Always the optimist, Christina Menting said she’s not giving up on the Green Bay Packers.

The Appleton woman said her team has some fight left.

“I’ve seen [Aaron] Rodgers pull out of a lot of things,” said Menting. “I think they have a chance but they have to put it all together.”

Menting and Mike Sweeney spent their day shopping at the Packers Pro Shop.

They purchased some hats, a football, action figures and more. Sweeney said he feels the answer to the Packers struggles is clear.

“They’re depending on rookies and their inexperience, I think is what’s hurting them right now,” Sweeney said.

He said Rodgers is clearly frustrated each week, and he feels for him.

“You can see it on the television when you’re watching him,” Sweeney said. “He’s shaking his head a lot, and he really is missing somebody. We all know.”

Sweeney and Menting both said despite the record and poor play, they’re hopeful the team can put things together and win some games.

“Maybe we’ll get a surprise this year and they’ll bounce back,” said Sweeney.
