FOND DU LAC, Wis. — A 31-year-old male from Norfolk, Virginia shot himself in the After-Hours lobby of the Fond du Lac Police Department Friday evening, Fond du Lac Police said.
FDLPD officers said they received a call at around 5:37 p.m. from the man, who indicated he wanted to commit suicide.
The male later shot himself while on the phone with the Communications Center. After a few moments, the FDLPD located the man and immediately began life-saving measures. He was then transferred to the care of the City of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescure and transported to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital. They later pronounced him deceased.
The identity of the man is not being released until police can reach the man’s family. This incident remains under investigation and at this time, there are no further details.
FDLPD said their thoughts and prayers go out to the family and the victim during a difficult time.
