Spectrum News 1's morning co-anchor, Sachelle Reed, is at home on maternity leave.

In light of her being out of the office, she took some time to check in from home and update us, and the viewers, on how she's doing.

"I'm doing well, that's a start," said Sachelle.

Sachelle is expecting twins this fall and, while she and the babies are both doing fine, her doctor recommended she remain on bed rest until the little ones arrive.

"I went to the doctor for what I thought was a few contractions. Those were fine, I was fine," she said. "But what wasn't fine was my blood pressure, enough so that the doctor felt like it was time for me to get off of work and kind of rest, and focus on bringing these babies into the world sometime in the next month."

Sachelle said she was expecting to work up until her induction date of Nov. 3, but now they've moved it up to Oct. 27.

For the time being, Sachelle said she's been following the doctor's advice, taking it easy, spending time with her kids and of course, watching Spectrum News 1.
