MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. — For three quarters of a million dollars, you could be the proud owner of a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Mount Pleasant.

The six-bedroom home, located at 1425 Valley View Dr., is on the market for the first time in its history. It was originally designed in 1954 for a member of the family.

With more than 4,978 square feet of space and three acres of sprawling land, the house oozes with charm. Walkways outside of the house are lush with trees and greenery. There’s even a small greenhouse.

Inside of the house, you’ll find beautiful wood paneling and exposed brick, and plenty of natural light. Windows line the walls of the house, with a few skylights throughout.

And if you’re looking out the windows, you might be able to catch a glimpse of the Root River, Colonial Park or Racine CC from the bluff the house sits upon.

Some other unique features of the home include a built-in couch, an exposed fireplace, a balcony that overlooks the Great Room and the ravine, a breakfast nook, and more.

The ranch-style home embraces a smooth flow between the interior and exterior, which is unlike a traditional home.

Wisconsin native Frank Lloyd Wright designed about 150 buildings for his home state; only about 60 were built and 43 of them still exist in the state to this day.

But if you can’t afford to buy one, you can tour plenty around the state, or even stay the night in one. About 20 are open to the public. Travel Wisconsin lists three different homes where you can book a stay.

You can also find more information on Wright’s buildings on the Wright in Wisconsin website, which keeps track of all the major sites across the state.
