“Cracked six ribs down that slide and have a broken right wrist, but hey, that’s what happens when you try to do your own stunts, ala Tom Cruise or Harrison Ford,” Vassegh said.

A camera crew caught him shooting out of the slide and into a padded wall. Still, Vassegh said he’s doing well, just a little sore.

Vassegh became a viral sensation overnight when people watched the video of his ill-fated drop down the slide, followed by his eventual return to the airwaves, cast and all.

“I’m just trying to give people entertainment. I did not believe it would go as far,” Vassegh added. “Went down the slide once, no problem; second time down, though, it was a lot faster for whatever reason. It was a lot slicker. Toward the end, I’m coming down and start to lose control.”

He said he knew something was wrong when he couldn’t catch his breath. He said the wind was knocked out of him — a sensation he’s only heard about from athletes he’s interviews.

He said the Dodgers team has shown great care in ensuring his recovery. Vassegh said he will likely need surgery on his right hand.

“But hey, I could learn a new left-handed trick or something,” he said.

"The Brewers and Bernie wish David the best in his recovery from the landing on the slide. It’s the first time we’ve had an injury out there and appreciate the good nature that David and his colleagues have displayed in reviewing the experience," the Brewers said in a statement.
