MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Bucks will travel back in time to the 1990s and early 2000s with new “Light It Up” Classic Edition uniforms for the 2022-23 season.

Like a blast from the past, the iconic purple and green have returned.

The uniform is a replica of the team’s road uniforms worn between 1994 and 2006. It’s meant to honor the dawn of the franchise’s “Big 3” era, when the uniform became synonymous with Ray Allen, Sam Cassell and Glenn Robinson.

But it’s not only the purple color, and green and white trim that’s made a return. Adorned with a silver “BUCKS” word mark across the chest, the uniform’s logo is also a throwback.

The “Light It Up” Classic Edition uniforms won’t be the only uniforms the Bucks will wear this season. They’ll still be rotating through their Association (white), Icon (green) and more recent Statement (black) uniforms.

And that’s not the last of it. The Bucks will also wear a new City Edition uniform, which will be revealed later this year.

Eager fans can start to pre-order the Classic Edition jersey in the Bucks online shop. In a press release, the Milwaukee Bucks said they will reveal and make available the entire retail collection for “Light It Up” closer to the start of the 2022-23 season.
