GREENDALE, Wis.— Plenty of local bands are taking to the stage at Summerfest this year. For many, it means getting the chance to play the Big Gig for the very first time. However, for band Boney Fingers, it is something the group has gotten to do more than 20 times.

Boney Fingers, known for their Grateful Dead-esque blend of rock and roll, has been performing together since 1990. Dennis Flink has been a part of the band since the beginning. For him, getting to play Summerfest means a lot, especially because it brings out new audiences.

“It is all ages so it is not just some bar gig, younger crowds can see us. That is the best part, new people see us all the time at Summerfest. A beautiful thing,” said Flink.

Boney Fingers took to the stage at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 1 at the BMO Harris Pavilion.
