MILWAUKEE— While the most recent tax filing deadline is now several weeks behind us, representatives with the Internal Revenue Service in Milwaukee will be hard at work this Saturday, trying to help Wisconsinites who are dealing with tax issues or facing questions tied to ID theft.

"We're opening the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center on Saturday because we think people still have questions," Christopher Miller, a spokesman for the IRS, told Spectrum News 1. "We know 2021 was an unusual year— we had new rules surrounding the child tax credit and the earned income tax credit, as well as a third economic impact payment or stimulus payment."

The special help session is set for Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at 211 W. Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee.

"If you visit us on Saturday, make sure to bring the right stuff— bring a government-issued ID, any social security number or ITIN for you or your dependents, any notices or letters from the IRS, and that'll help make the process easier," Miller added.
