Voters in Wisconsin will soon decide the fate of local referendums and candidate races in several counties and cities.

The last day of early voting saw a steady stream of early voters concerned about Milwaukee’s future.

Over the past week, thousands came out to early voting sites like Good Hope Library on the north side of Milwaukee.

Vanessa Henderson was one of them.

“I just feel voting is important to everybody. If you want to speak your mind, if you want to have some change or anything like that, you need to get out and vote,” said Henderson.

Henderson said there were many things on her mind when making her choice on Milwaukee’s mayoral race.

“A lot of issues are everything that’s going on in our city. We really need help and some candidates are going to work and know and do something.” said Henderson.

On the other side of the city, Joyce Pluskota casted her ballot at the Tippecanoe Library.

“We did get an absentee ballot, but we didn’t use that. We came out to early voting. I just like to do that better. You know that you are doing it right, because you got so many people behind you that are checking if you are doing it properly,” Pluskota said.

Pluskota said she makes it a point to vote in every election whether by absentee or early voting.

She also believes this election is very important.

“The mayor and crime, things like that, and who is the best candidate for that,” said Pluskota.

Both Henderson and Pluskota aim to play a role in tipping the scale towards the direction they feel the city should take.
