MILWAUKEE— No matter the team, fans are here for some basketball in March. But what makes it even better is when your team gets to play in its home state.
“Words can’t describe. What a better environment to be able to bring all of our fans here to watch the Badgers kick some butt this evening,” Jessica Moreland, a Badgers fan from Minnesota, said.
Moreland is from Stillwater, Minnesota but has been a Badger fan her whole life. She said being able to watch the Badgers in the NCAA Tournament is a one-of-a-kind experience.
“If you haven’t done it before, it’s a must. There is no better environment. College basketball is a great place to be and to be in Milwaukee with a bunch of fellow Badgers fans is the best. This is what you live for,” Moreland said.
Noah Tyacke and his dad Scott Tyacke are living for this moment too. The pair came down to the Deer District early on Friday to see what it’s all about ahead of tonights game.
“It’s going to be a great experience to watch them in Milwaukee for the first time in a long time. They have great history here so I am hoping for a win today,” Noah Tyacke said.
Many Badgers fans are hoping for a win today. Jared Retzlaff said he bought tickets three months ago and was elated when he found out the Badgers would be playing in Milwaukee for the first round of tournament play.
“I was thrilled. I was really excited to see the Badgers were going to be here to catch some more games so hopefully they will play again on Sunday,” Retzlaff said.
Many fans showed up early to cheer on their team and celebrate their success so far this season.
