MILWAUKEE — As the omicron variant continues to surge across the United States, more and more Wisconsinites are looking to get their hands on N95 and KN95 face masks.

Earlier this month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance on masks, noting that N95 and KN95 masks offer some of the strongest protection against COVID-19. Since then, local governments and the federal government have made efforts to provide free masks for citizens; the state of Wisconsin has distributed more than 5.4 million N95 masks since the beginning of the year.

Grocery chain Meijer also recently announced it received an estimated three million N95 masks to give out at locations across the Midwest. The N95 masks will be in boxes set on a table near the Meijer Greeter stand of the grocery entrance.
