OGEMA, Wis. — The fall colors are really starting to shine in the northern half of Wisconsin. It is something especially true at Timms Hill in Price County.

At 1951 feet above sea level, Timms Hill is the highest natural point in the state. That means that from the lakes to the observation tower, it is a beautiful place to take in the fall color.

Donna and Tom Timm, no relation to the park’s namesake, climbed the observation tower for the first time Thursday. The couple from Eagle River say they were amazed at the perspective the tower gave them.

“It is absolutely beautiful, you can look for miles,” said Donna Time. “ I don’t know how far this is, but it is gorgeous from site to site, you get a bit of the rolling hills in here.”

They are reactions Lyle Blomburg is used to. He has lived near Timms Hill since 1991 and owns a restaurant on the property. Blomburg said Timms Hill is a chance for visitors to come to appreciate nature.

“They use this place, they come here, it's a healing place. You hear the term the "healing northwoods." This place is that and a little more,” said Blomburg.

Blomburg estimates that fall color at Timms Hill is at about 80% peak, meaning you may want to plan a visit soon.
