Governor Tony Evers and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett have both declared Saturday as Bob Uecker Day.

It's a day to remember Uecker’s more than half century with the Brewers, including 50 years behind the microphone.

Brewers fans said it is a fitting tribute for a man who has made such an impact on Wisconsin sports.

“Actually I think it should be Bob Uecker week or Bob Uecker month,” said fan Mark Drews. “He is an institution; I think he is fantastic for baseball."

Celebrations for Uecker Day are planned for Saturday’s game with a tribute video set to play and a ceremonial first pitch thrown out by Brewers Hall of Fame member Robin Yount.
