MILWAUKEE — Hunger Task Force is teaming up with DoorDash and the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County to give a helping hand to community seniors.
A new senior food delivery program called Stockbox DoorDash provides eligible seniors with an opportunity to receive home delivery of a free Stockbox from August-December of this year. New Stockbox recipients only are eligible for this program.
Monday, a group of DoorDash delivery drivers stopped at Hunger Task Force’s warehouse to pick up Stockboxes for delivery around the area.
The “Stockbox” is a free box of food for seniors age 60+ to receive on a monthly basis. The boxes include cereal, milk, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta or rice, protein, fruit juice, canned meat and a block of Wisconsin government cheese.
Stockbox DoorDash is a pilot program with capacity to serve up to 2,000 eligible seniors each month.
Eligible seniors must receive a monthly income of less than $1,396 for an individual ($1,898 for a two-person household) and live in one of the following zip codes:
