MADISON, Wis. — A Wisconsin mother/son creative-grooming-duo are set to prove they are a cut above by starring in ABC’s new reality tv show "Pooch Perfect."
The internationally known dog queen of color, Deb Compton and her 19-year-old, Jordan, say the three weeks of 16-hour hot mic’d day shoots were intense.
"You know, being hot mic’ed. They're waiting for any, any bit of information like you go oh no, and the cameras go zoom!" Deb said.
But overall, the extensive filming was an unforgettable experience for the two, who were truly thankful they could grow closer. Jordan says during the shooting, he learned some incredible tricks of the trade.
"She taught me to hair dye, I had never even done that before, I did it first time on the show ever, and she trusted me to do it, and it was nerve racking," he said.
The teen even had the chance to ask the show's host, Rebel Wilson, out on a date with his mom.
"Guess, you know, we'll see how it pans out, but I definitely think you know you miss 100% of the shots you don't take so," he laughed.
Wilson and Jordan now stay in touch by DM’ing on Instagram.
Deb says Wilson was very generous and even sent them personal gifts when the show wrapped.
"She sent us champagne, champagne gummy bears, cookies, I couldn’t believe what a beautiful person she is," Deb said.
Meanwhile, Deb just so grateful she and her son had a chance to appear on national tv and share a part of their unique industry.
"You know my journey, I loved that I got to tell this story, of me, my family, my dogs… so, I feel like you know, I already won,” she said.
Check your local listings for the show’s time, but you can catch "Pooch Perfect" every Tuesday night on ABC.
