MILWAUKEE— Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport offers flights to cities all over; however direct service to the North Pole is not on the usual itinerary. This holiday season, the airport is making an exception.

Staff with Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport has set up a Santa’s Mailbox in the main concourse of the airport. It allows travelers of all ages to write letters to Santa. Through a partnership with Alaska Airlines, the letters will board a flight next week bound for Seattle, and will then be flown to Fairbanks, AK in route to the North Pole. If people writing a letter include a return address, their letters will be answered.

Christie Green with Milwaukee Mitchell International says it is a fun way to get travelers excited this holiday season.

“We think families really enjoy being able to drop off their letters and knowing Santa is going to make sure they get their presents to them," says Green.

Santa’s Mailbox will be set up at the airport until Dec. 21.
