MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- $3 million was up for grabs in Wisconsin over the past few months, all to benefit businesses successfully navigating their way through the "new normal" of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dubbed "We're All Innovating," the program-- a partnership between the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and the Wisconsin Technology Council-- ended up awarding funding to 231 businesses statewide.
Walden Production Resources, Inc., an event consulting and production company based in Pewaukee, was one of those winners.
"In early Spring, I had a weekend where 13 events changed, whether that was a cancellation or, "Hey, we need to go virtual,"" Christian Dennik, president of Walden Production Resources, Inc., told Spectrum News 1. "We're [now] starting to look at [in-person events] next Fall."
The funding, distributed as part of the federal CARES Act, was available to eligible businesses in Wisconsin with 50 employees or less, which "have introduced innovations responding to direct health and economic impacts of COVID-19."
