MADISON, Wis. — Less than a week after Wisconsin broke its record in daily coronavirus cases, it broke the record again.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Tuesday reported 3,279 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours; the previous high was 3,132. 

 

 

The state also broke its death toll record, reporting 34 more deaths related to the virus in a single day. There have now been 1,508 deaths reported in total.

Additionally, 147 more people were hospitalized across the state.

Wisconsin has a cumulative total of 155,471 positive coronavirus cases thus far. The state's seven-day average also went up to 2,727, the health department said.
