DARIEN, Wis. (SPECTRUM NEWS) — Vice President Mike Pence visited Wisconsin Wednesday, where he gave a speech at Tankcraft, a manufacturing company in Walworth County.
This is the second time Pence campaigned in the Badger State since June. This also follows President Donald Trump's visit to Wisconsin on Monday, and son Eric Trump's visit Tuesday.
“To me that choice is clear, President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence will bring back jobs to America, to Wisconsin and Darien," Congressman Bryan Steil says.
The congressman, along with hundreds of supporters, showed up to hear his speech.
The majority of Pence's speech focused on the economy and jobs. Pence says the U.S. will see the fastest economic recovery in its history. He even went as far as to call it "The Great American Comeback."
“Because of the solid foundation we poured in the first three years [we] added more than nine million jobs back; (we) added more jobs in three months than Biden and Obama did in eight years," Pence says.
Pence claims Wisconsin has gained more than 39 thousand manufacturing jobs in three years.
In addition to economic recovery, the Vice President offered hope for a vaccine to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
“I'm here to tell you I just got another report yesterday from the White House Taskforce doctors," he says. "We are well on our way to having the first coronavirus vaccine before the end of this year, only in America."
While he did touch on some national points of conversation, the veep's focus was Wisconsin.
“NAFTA is history and the USMCA is here to stay; it's a win. The USMA preserves manufacturing companies, like Tankcrafts', duty-free access to Canada and Mexico. It simplifies the export process, saves the company time and money that can be used to grow this company right here in Wisconsin.”
He noted that the Trump-Pence campaign for the next presidency will focus on jobs, making his stop and speech in Darien very intentional.
