CAMP LAKE, Wisc. (SPECTRUM NEWS)— National Weather Service declares an EF-0 Tornado made its way through Camp Lake on Monday night.

After a night of rough weather across Wisconsin, residents are focused on clean up throughout the southern half of the state.

Many neighborhoods in Camp Lake in Oconto County can be found full of debris, tree limbs, and leaves Tuesday morning following severe weather Monday night. Tuesday brings lots of cleanup for neighbors in surrounding areas as they get a full look at the extent of damage in their yards.

Ann Keaton from Camp Lake says her entire backyard was filled with trees

“I honestly wanted to cry; it was devastating. I have been up here for one year, never experienced anything like this ever,” Camp Lake resident, Keaton says.

After the shock of last night sank in, Keaton and her neighbors got to work helping clean up each other's yards. The sounds of chain saws and generators filled the streets as they all teamed up to remove debris and cut down large trees that had fallen.

“We all talked last night, I’ve been running my generator keeping these two houses refrigerators and pumps running and we have got a really great neighborhood and everyone is coming together helping and we are thankful for that,” Camp Lake resident, Justin Burg says.

Right up the street from Keaton, in the neighborhood NWS says it appears to be hit hardest in the area, a massive 70-year-old tree is uprooted and laying on a camper and a boat.

“In just a matter of seconds… it was hit,” Camp Lake resident, Mitchell Murphy says.

Mitchell Murphy says he was in shock when he saw the damage outside his home. He says on top of about four inches of water in his basement and no power, he and his family are in for a long couple of days.

“I just remodeled my camper and I was about to go camping," Murphy says. "I am at a total loss; it’s like, what do I do?”

The National Weather Service spent the day making their way through multiple towns. They say this Camp Lake neighborhood seems to be the hardest hit.

“So far from what we surveyed here today this looks a little worse than Lake Geneva, it seems to be a little bit more widespread,” National Weather Service meteorologist, Kevin Wagner says.

While surveying they are determining if a tornado touched down in the area or not based on the way debris is scattered throughout the neighborhood.

The national weather service says an EF-1 tornado made its way from. Northern Illinois and into Camp Lake as an EF-0. It was also determined that an EF-0 tornado touched down in Lake Geneva and an EF-0 tornado touched down in Burton.

The NWS is continuing to survey across the state and will have more results to come.
