MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS) — While the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a large amount of event cancellations and postponements, there are a handful of Fourth of July festivities that are still on this holiday weekend.

Green Bay

The Green Bay Booyah will host a fireworks show on both July 3 and 4. The collegiate summer baseball league is teaming up with Festival Foods to provide the show after the team’s home games at Capital Credit Union Park. The games start at 4:35 p.m., live music will start at 8 p.m., and the fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m.

Manitowoc

Manitowoc’s parade and fireworks are still on this year, at 10 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively. 

The city has extended the parade route to allow more room for social distancing. It will begin at the corner of Washington Street and S. 8th Street. 

The fireworks will be launched from the south pier on the lakefront that evening. 

Eau Claire

The city moved its July 4 firework show to a higher elevation to make it possible for residents to watch the event from their backyards. The show will start at 10 p.m.

Wisconsin Dells

The Wisconsin Dells is still offering multiple events for the holiday weekend:

  • Kalahari Resort: Fireworks start at dusk

  • Mt. Olympus: Fireworks start at dusk; free admission at the gate

  • Wilderness Resort: Fireworks start at dusk; launched near Glacier Canyon Conference Center

  • Wisconsin Dells Municipal Pool on Veterans Drive behind the post office; Fireworks start at dusk

Racine

While the fireworks have been canceled, the city is still putting on a parade. However, the parade will come to residents this year to practice social distancing. 

The traveling parade starts at 10 a.m. July 4 on the northside.

West Bend

The city will still hold its firework show at dusk July 4. 

Fireworks will launch from Riverside Park, which will be closed to spectators. The show will not include ground displays, but high-flying fireworks to make them more visible from afar.

Residents are encouraged to watch the fireworks from their homes, but parking will be available within close proximity to the park.

Lake Geneva

The popular tourist destination is still putting on a fireworks show both July 3 and 4, but only for its guests and members.

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa will have its fireworks show beginning at dusk on July 3. Geneva National Resort will hold its fireworks show at 6 p.m. on July 4.

Appleton

Appleton’s firework show is a go, but all other festivities have been canceled. The show will start at 9:45 p.m. on July 4 at the Wisconsin International Raceway. 

The city is encouraging attendees to practice social distancing. 

New Berlin

New Berlin will host a reverse parade this year. Families are encouraged to decorate their vehicles and head to city hall to drop off non-perishables.

The parade will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. July 4.

West Allis

The City of West Allis will host a motorized parade at 6 p.m. on July 4. 

It will travel from 77th and Greenfield to 70th and Greenfield, head South on 70th to where the parade ends at the edge of Veterans Park. Vehicles will then disperse and go home. 

Physical distancing and mask wearing are strongly encouraged for any who choose to attend. The City’s annual fireworks, traditional parade, and post-parade activities remain canceled for this year.
