OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- The City of Oconomowoc Common Council approves plans for a ballpark project. This project includes construction of a 2,500-seat baseball stadium and 43,000 square foot indoor health and wellness training center. The stadium will accommodate a variety of different sports teams that can use the outdoor space up to 10 months of the year.
Construction of the ballpark and indoor training facility is expected to begin in late spring of 2020, with a goal of Opening Day in the summer of 2021.
The stadium will be the future home of a summer collegiate baseball team in a yet-to-be-announced league; allowing top prospects to take their game to the professional level. Their season typically runs from late May through early August.
Along with baseball, the stadium will be used for a variety of events including movies in the park, musical acts, private parties, and more.
