MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS)— A 90-year-old Brewers fan is extremely excited after a wild card win Wednesday night.

Brewers fans across the state of Wisconsin are sure excited following last nights in. However, to one 90-year-old man that win was something special after following the team for many years.

That man is Dick Huxtable, who now lives in East Castle Place in Milwaukee. Huxtable says he has been a fan his whole life and was pumped to see the team do so well when it mattered most.

“I’m a baseball nut to start with I love baseball, I just love it,” Brewers Fan, Dick Huxtable said.

You may or may not recognize his name. But, Huxtable is a well-known coach who coached multiple sports at Nicolet High School, including baseball.

“We won the state championship in 1985 so that was a thrill,” Huxtable said.

His love for sports and baseball goes far and wide when it comes to the Milwaukee Brewers. Huxtable has been a fan since the team formed in 1969.

“Dick Huxtable is the largest brewers fan I’ve ever met. He is a baseball fanatic through and through he’s coached baseball,” East Castle Place Executive Director, Tyler Gudex said.

Although Huxtable says he has only made it to around three games this year due to his age, he says he didn’t miss a single one from the comfort of his beloved chair in his living room.

“I’ll be at all the games right here, and my TV set is right over there,” Huxtable said.

He says his favorite part of Wednesday night’s game was the post game celebration.

“The best part of the whole deal was watching the celebration afterwards and see the owner of the team with his hat on backwards and everything all over him,” Huxtable said.

Although he has been out of coaching for quite a few years, Huxtable says it’s still in his blood and has a few words of wisdom to offer to these players in the heat of October play.

“I just hope they are proud of what they are accomplished but not satisfied. because they can still go further,” Huxtable said.

Those are just a few words of wisdom from a coach who hasn’t missed a single beat in all his years.
