MENOMONEE FALLS (SPECTRUM NEWS)--A new and innovative way to hold your condiments are being produced right here in the state of Wisconsin and it’s better for the environment.

Back in 1965 the wheels began turning at Glenroy Incorporated in Menomonee Falls. They are known for specializing in flexible packaging film like the labels and packaging you see on thousands of products throughout the stores.

Now if you fast forward over 50 years later, you will see a new an innovative product like nothing else on the shelves.

"We in partnership with Aptar Inc. launched the pre made stand cap inverted pouch," Director of Product Development and Engineering at Glenroy, Evan Arnold said.

The product looks like a squishy like bag and it allows companies to provide their products in a whole new way.

"The pouch enables consumers to evacuate the entire product out of the pouch and allows brands to have a lower environmental impact on getting their products out to the consumers," Arnold said.

If you stack up one of Glenroy's stand-up pouches next to a glass bottle, you can see the differences in their appearance. But, what you don't see is the environmental impact this innovative packaging provides.

This product allows for 65 percent less fossil fuel consumption and over 80 percent less water usage when purchasing this type of packaging.

Glenroy launched this product only six months ago and now they are hoping to expand what else comes inside these products. They are hoping to be along all the shelves in stores nationwide.

"To know that we had a part in it and to know I personally had a part in it is pretty cool,"Glenroy Employee, Jason Vetter said.

Jason Vetter has been working for Glenroy for nearly two decades. He says seeing these new and innovative products on the shelves quite the sight to see.

"I have six kids so, you take them to the store and they say ,hey dad probably made that or dad might have made that and it actually got to the point where they ask me now if that's something I've made so it's a proud moment," Vetter said.

The future of what this packing will hold is still unclear, however, Glenroy says a lot more products are in the works and they hope to continue to highlight all the state of Wisconsin has to offer.
