MADISON, Wis. (SPECTRUM NEWS) — The American Family Insurance Championship is underway in Madison. On Thursday a trio of professional athletes who aren't golfers were in town for the tournament.

The Watt brothers — JJ, TJ and Derek — announced golfers coming in to the 18th green as well as participated in community events surrounding the tournament.

“We've always felt that wherever we are we want to make that difference in the community and try to bring everyone together and help anybody in any way that we can,” said Derek Watt, a fullback for the Los Angeles Chargers.

JJ Watt is the brand ambassador for the tournament. The tournament raises money for the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison. The Watt's try to elevate the tournament so it can contribute more to the hospital.

“We came from a great family, we came from a great place and we understand that we have a platform that we can use to make a difference in the world,” said JJ Watt, a defensive end for Houston Texans.

The Watts said the first thing they do when they get back to Wisconsin is visit family and friends.

“I think we all just love this place so much and it's awesome we get to spend it together, we cherish these moments,” said TJ Watt, linebacker for the Pittsburg Steelers.

The tournament continues through Sunday. On Saturday another football star will be on the course. Brett Favre will play in the celebrity round hosted by Andy North. They will be joined by Jack Nicklaus and Toby Keith.
