MADISON (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- Thursday marked 'Take Your Child to Work Day' and this year, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development found a pretty cool way to put its' employees kids to work.

DWD gave two dozen children on-the-job training with a real world crash course in how the media holds politicians accountable.

Students were encouraged to answer civic questions and write out questions they had to Governor Tony Evers and Secretary Caleb Frostman.  Frostman was then asked numerous questions that considered everything from how he got into politics to where he shops for men's suits.  He says ultimately, it's important for these children to understand what mom and dad do.

‘We want to make sure that we do make that introduction early and often and express the ability for folks to be here and do well in Wisconsin.’

He hopes many companies continue to celebrate the special day and would even consider holding it more than once a year to give kids more time see what adult life is all about.
