WISCONSIN (SPECTRUM NEWS) -The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Wisconsin officials are asking that you properly dispose of unused or expired prescriptions drugs Saturday, April 27th.

If you're in the area Saturday, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area will be participating in Drug Take Back Day at Miller Park’s Yount Parking Lot. You can dispose of these items:

  • Controlled and non-controlled prescriptions
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Ointments, patches, non-aerosol sprays, and inhalers
  • Creams, vials, and pet medications

Entrances to the lot are on the east and north side via Selig Drive.

Wisconsin Dept. of Health Services also says unused or expired prescription medications should never be flushed or poured down the drain. These potentially dangerous pharmaceutical substances can contribute to contamination of our water supply if not disposed of properly.
