MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS)— Wisconsin based sparkling beverage company expanding its operations in the state.
When you think of drinking in Wisconsin the first thing that may come to mind is beer. But, what about those crafty cocktails? The creators of Top Note Tonics are continuing to create a new way to enjoy an adult beverage.
Grab yourself a glass, a little bit of ice, take a sip and enjoy. Those are just a few of the ways to enjoy a nice refreshing cocktail.
The two mixing masterminds, Mary Pellettieri and Noah Swanson are the owners of Top Note Tonics. It’s a sparkling non-alcoholic drink that can also be used as a mixer in cocktails.
“The company was actually something I thought about when I was pregnant and working in a brewery and at the time I was drinking tonic water as my non-alcoholic drink of choice and it wasn't really good," Co-founder of Top Note Tonics, Mary Pellettieri said.
So, both Noah and Mary thought it was time to jump in to the business. They began creating cocktail syrups in 2014, and in 2017 the operation expanded to sparkling beverages.
"There is almost nothing that we can't try and make something new of," Co-founder of Top Note Tonics, Noah Swenson said.
Both Noah and Mary are kept busy in the kitchen by spending time to create new recipes for craft cocktails that will mix well with their product. Their latest task is creating a mineral water for brown spirits like whisky or bourbon.
They say the creation process is all about trial and error. But it's the taste testing and mixing that's brought this locally owned Wisconsin business where it is today.
"Every step of the way you realize you are climbing a mountain but you look down and you realize... We've done pretty well," Pellettieri said.
Now, plans for expansion are in the works to be able to bring all outsourcing in other states back to a local Wisconsin brewing company, Octopi.
"Having a dynamic kind of space where we can do all those things is perfect for a little dynamic company. It's crucial. I mean I can probably do this from home but it would be horrible," Swanson said.
The larger space and distributor will allow more mixing, creating, and crafting new cocktail mixers to be able to put out on the market.
"We're going to have the best soda water on the market, that's our goal," Pellettieri said.
So now, the pouring, mixing, and shaking will continue on a bigger scale as these top note creators work to craft some top notch tonics.
“We want to keep shaking up the market and keep shaking up the idea of what a mixer should be," Pellettieri said.
