March is Women's History Month. This year's Women's History Month theme focuses on leaders in education.
Marquette University holds a unique distinction. In 1909, it became the first Catholic university to admit both men and women. Prior to that time, women were able to obtain degrees from Catholic universities, but they were through universities that were exclusively for women.
