Wisconsin has seen a recent expansion of passenger rail service, with several more proposals on the table.
While service has expanded between Milwaukee and St. Paul, MN, some of the state’s most populous regions remain without passenger rail service. The Fox Valley and Green Bay are areas that both lack service.
Larry Rueff joined Spectrum News 1 on “In Focus.” Rueff works with NEW Rails, a group that advocates for rail expansion in Northeast Wisconsin. Rueff discussed several proposals to bring service to the region, as well as why strong ridership numbers for Amtrak’s new Borealis Service could bode well for future expansion around the state.
