Mayor Cavalier Johnson sold Milwaukee — hard — as the best possible host city for this summer’s Republican National Convention.
Johnson said he believes the economic impact of the RNC, and the long-term PR impact of Milwaukee hosting such a major event, will yield great results for Wisconsin’s largest city.
But politically, Johnson represents a 180-degree pivot from the Republican National Committee and its platform.
Johnson is an outspoken Democrat and said he remains confident Democrats will carry Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes in November.
