State Rep. Jodi Emerson (D-Eau Claire) has authored a bill outlining rules for name, image and likeness (NIL) compensation for amateur athletes. 

College athletes nationally can now earn money from endorsement deals after rule changes by the NCAA. 

Some states moved swiftly to clarify rules for NIL. 

Wisconsin has so far not passed NIL legislation at the state level.
