Jeffrey Glazer is a professor at the UW-Madison Law School who specializes in food and beverage law.
He said the proposed changes to Wisconsin’s alcohol laws currently before the state Senate would in various ways not be noticeable to customers because many of the changes deal with alcohol production.
Glazer said one change consumers may notice, if the bill becomes law, is a more rigorous process will be needed to get permitting for pop-up events often hosted by craft brewers.
But Glazer said, in many ways, the law is simply evening out how the production of various alcoholic beverages is regulated, so that one type of drink production is not treated vastly differently than another.
