Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson expects a major economic boost for his city, and the region, when the Republican National Convention comes to town in two years.
Johnson said he expects Milwaukee to get the convention, with the RNC expected to hold a final vote during an Aug. 2 to Aug. 5 meeting.
The RNC's site selection committee already recommended Milwaukee to host the convention.
Johnson, a Democrat, said he disagrees with some of the Republican party's stances but feels the convention gives Milwaukee a blue print to follow for hosting other large-scale events in the future.
