Milwaukee County Executive, David Crowley, is a native of the Brew City and a lifelong Bucks fan.
Crowley said he's still buzzing about the team's successful 2020-2021 season - which ended with an NBA Championship.
But as County Executive, Crowley paid close attention to the economic impact the title run had in Southeast Wisconsin.
He noted Bucks' fans heading to games often patronized nearby restaurants, taverns and hotels. Many came and spent money at the establishments in the Deer District outside of Fiserv Forum.
More money poured into the local economy during the team's championship-celebrating parade in Downtown Milwaukee.
Crowley thinks Milwaukee's success with handling the large crowds and capitalizing on the excitement surrounding the team was a great showcase of the city for large-scale events or conventions in the future.
