One year after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and the outcry that followed, police reform in Wisconsin is at a crossroads.
The conversation continues nationwide, heightened in Wisconsin by the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha. Blake was shot multiple times following a confrontation with police there in August of 2020. The officer who shot him was cleared of any wrongdoing in January and is back on the force.
“If there is any definition of ‘no justice’ being served, this is it” says Blake’s sister, Letetra Wideman.
Wideman says policy changes are helpful at the state level, but more is needed.
