MADISON, Wis. (SPECTRUM NEWS) - It’s the only one of its kind in Wisconsin — where business and community professionals become principals for the day.
The Foundation for Madison's Public Schools says this year’s 'Principal Experience' featured the largest group of participants with 115 visiting 50 different buildings. The district says the goal is to encourage more public-private partnership opportunities.
"People come away with a whole new respect for how wonderful our public schools are. But also some of the challenges are, and I think feel very motivated and inspired to step up to give to those schools," The Foundation for Madison's Public Schools Executive Director Melinda Heinritz said.
The organization hopes to raise more around $8 to $10 million over the next few years to support district growth.
