1. La Crosse has a new Vietnam War memorial thanks to a student's effort
After years of research, and raising lots of money, a memorial dedicated to veterans of the Vietnam War is now a reality. The memorial at Veterans Freedom Park in La Crosse, Wis. didn't happen overnight. It took hundreds of thousands of dollars and a whole lot of hope from a high school student.
2. Wisconsin election investigator says he deleted records
The former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice hired to investigate President Joe Biden’s victory in the battleground state testified Thursday that he routinely deleted records, and deactivated a personal email account, even after receiving open records requests.

Timber Rattlers pitcher Tyler Gillies, who beat cancer twice, glad to be part of 'Hope at Bat' campaign
Tyler Gillies remembers exactly what he felt when the doctor came into the office and told him what that lump on his neck was.
“Panic,’’ said Gillies, a relief pitcher with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, when told he had Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2019. “As a 24-year-old, you never expect to hear you got cancer, especially as a professional athlete. Thought I was pretty healthy at that time.’’
On Wednesday, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Minor League Baseball and the American Cancer Society announced a new initiative called the “Hope at Bat” campaign, with the hope it will provide a light at the end of the tunnel for cancer patients and survivors everywhere.
