There are events for everyone going on across the state this weekend. Find out what's going on near you.
EAU CLAIRE
- The Cars & Trucks: Downtown Car Show will be held Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Graham Avenue and Grand Avenue in Eau Claire. The event is free and will also feature motorcycles and food trucks.
- The 10th annual Eau Claire Big Rig Truck Show will feature a demolition derby, music, a beer garden and more throughout the weekend at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls. For children, there will be face painting, free semi-truck rides, a coin dig and more.
- The second annual Summer Masquerade Ball will be held in Menomonie on Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight. The event will be at Tanglewood Green golf course and country club.
GREEN BAY
- The Water Lantern Festival will kick off on Sunday at 5 p.m. Attendees will draw or write on a lantern and send it out in to the water near Pamperin Park in Green Bay at dusk. The event will also feature food trucks, music and more.
- There will be a free community movie night at the Capital Credit Union Park on Friday. Finding Nemo will begin at 8 p.m., and gates open at 7:30 p.m. Attendees can either sit on the field or in the bleachers. A concession stand will serve food and drinks.
- The Brown County Fair will begin on Aug. 14 in De Pere and will continue through the weekend. The fair will feature a sea lion show, carnival, truck pull, agricultural events, robotics demonstration and more.
LA CROSSE
- Focus Fest 2019 will be held Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Cavalier Theater and Lounge in La Crosse. The event is an urban arts festival with music, rap battles, glass blowing, turntablism, beat boxing and more.
- Firefly Fest in Bangor is Saturday, starting with a farmers market at 9 a.m. The event will feature live music, food, a silent auction, wagon rides and bonfire at dusk.
- The Coulee Con gaming convention will kick off on Friday at 1 p.m. and continue through the weekend in La Crosse. The convention will have a variety of board games, puzzles, video games and more for attendees to play.
MADISON
- Madison’s sixth annual Yum Yum Fest will be held on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature food like pancake battered cheese curds with maple syrup, frozen s’mores, grilled peaches and a variety of others.
- Geekcraft Expo Madison will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Madison Masonic Center. The expo is a geek-themed market that sells a variety of crafts, including clothing, toys, furniture and decorations.
- The 21st annual Africa Fest will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at McPike Park in Madison. The event will have exhibits, vendors, kids’ activities and live entertainment. Admission is free.
- The OutReach Magic Festival: A PRIDE Celebration will be held on Sunday at Warner Park in Madison from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be events preceding the festival around Madison. The event will feature food, entertainment, information booths and more.
- The Sun Prairie Sweet Corn Festival will kick off with a parade Aug. 15 and will continue through Sunday. There will be live bands, plenty of sweet corn, a carnival and beer tents.
MILWAUKEE
- Field of Sweet Dreams will be returning to Miller Park for its 11th year Saturday night. Fans of all ages can attend a slumber party and watch the Brewers versus Nationals game on the video board, watch a family friendly movie, go on private tours, play on the field, listen to a bedtime story read by players and coaches and more.
- Milwaukee Irish Fest 2019 will kick off Aug. 15 and will continue through Sunday at Henry Maier Festival Park. The festival is the world’s largest celebrations of Celtic music and culture, according to its website.
- The sights, sounds and tastes of India are coming to Milwaukee on Saturday at IndiaFest. The event will feature Indian food, cultural displays, dancing, music, markets and more. Admission is free.
- The Great American Lobster Fest will be held Friday through Sunday at the Fiserv Forum. This is the first time the event will be held in Wisconsin. It will feature live lobster from the East Coast, crafts, games and live music.
- The seventh annual Brew City Cigar Festival will be held Saturday at Old Heidelberg Park. The event will feature live music, prizes, demonstrations and premium cigars.
- FAT Fest will be held Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. at Crafty Cow MKE. The festival celebrates food, art and tunes and will feature live blacksmith demonstrations, food and live music.
WAUSAU
- The Big Bull Falls Blues Fest will be held Friday and Saturday at Fern Island Park. Albert Castiglia will headline Friday and Southern Hospitality will headline Saturday.
- This weekend is the kick off of Sunset and Fall Chairlift Rides at Granite Peak at Rib Mountain State Park. Starting Thursday, the ski chairlifts will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. all weekend. The rides will continue every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 20.
NORTHERN WISCONSIN
- The Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua will host singer Phillip Phillips, who is famous for songs like five times-platinum “Home,” “Gone, Gone, Gone” and “Raging Fire.” He will perform Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The Big Top near Bayfield hosts musicians weekly, Thursday through Sunday.
- The Minocqua Dragon Boat Festival will be held on Saturday. Taoists priests will begin the festival with the awakening of the dragon ceremony, followed by the boat races. The event will feature food, a beer garden, marketplace and more.
