MILWAUKEE (SPECTRUM NEWS) — School bus companies around Wisconsin are figuring out how they can safely drive students to school during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lamers Bus Lines provides service for 45 districts around the state, each of which have their own policies. For Milwaukee Public Schools, which is one of the districts Lamers serves, there are only expected to be about twelve students allowed on board per bus.
Siblings will be allowed to sit together, which may increase bus capacity. Lamers is planning to block off rows within each bus.
Lamers Milwaukee General Manager Dean Brown says cleaning procedures on board school busses will also be stepped up.
Lamers also plans to take the temperatures of drivers before they begin their routes each day.
