Griselda Perez is a multimedia journalist based in Green Bay, who came to us from the Victoria Television Group in southeastern Texas. There she was a reporter for  Newscenter 25, which produces more than 22 hours of local news per week across its major networks: KAVU (ABC), KVCT (FOX), KXTS (CBS), KMOL (NBC), KVTX (Telemundo), and KUNU (Univision).

Griselda is an “adopted Texan,” having lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for more than half of her life, and that’s where she began her career in news. After graduating from the University of North Texas, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in radio/television and film, she became a consumer investigative producer at KXTX Telemundo Dallas.

Her love of good conversation and a good story led to her passion for journalism, and meeting ordinary people with extraordinary stories keeps her love of reporting growing. After interning and working at Spanish-language news outlets, she realized that being a voice for the voiceless was her calling.

Among the most meaningful she has covered was in Victoria, when she followed up on a missing-person case involving an immigrant family. It was a story she related to and she wanted to help the family that reminded her of her own. The missing person was a young mother her age, whose family spoke little English and was feeling unheard. After sharing the story, they received a lot of support from their community and communities across the state.

In her spare time, Griselda enjoys hiking, camping, dog parks, concerts, and shopping. Another one of her favorite things to do is finding and trying new food spots, believing that you really get to know people over food, while being exposed to different cultures and traditions and having a good time.
