MADISON, Wis (SPECTRUM NEWS) -- A special organization ensures kids in the Madison area have a chance to enjoy new books of their own.

The Madison Reading Project for the last six years has made that its' mission through grant support and community fundraising.   Last year, the effort stepped up with a ‘book bus’.  This ensures at-risk children have the opportunity to bring even more books home.

"Now letting kids or adults know they are all free, and kids can pick out and keep," Founder Rowan Childs said.  "We try to put things at different eye level, depending on the age of kids," she added.

The Madison Capitols Hockey Team is holding a book  drive to support the Madison Reading Project at their game this Saturday night, March 7.
